During the school holidays, my family went to Auckland, New Zealand to spent a week of our holiday there. When i took my first step out of the airport, a flesh gust of sea breeze greeted us and we felt rejuvenated after the long flight of ten hours. We hailed for a taxi before going to our next destination, the hotel. As it was already midnight, we settled down and rest.
Morning came and shortly after breakfast, a small coach waited for us at the entrance of the hotel to take us to our first destination, the Waitomo Caves. It was a long ride however when we reached there we knew the ride was worth it. Inside the caves there were worms called ARACHNOCAMPA LUMINONA ( spider-like light-producing larva). As inside the cave, there is a river thus a boat is used to transport tourists into the cave which allow the tourists to have a close interraction with the worms. As the worms are glowing, there was a stunning view inside the cave. However, tourists are not allow to make noises or take photographs inside the cave, this is to protect the weak worms.
It was a wonderlaful experience for me to be exposed to such natural habitats and i wish to visit more of these places in the future.
